Desktop Support Technician at Blizzard (Irvine, California, United States)

Blizzard Entertainment's global information systems team is looking for a self-motivated, skilled information technology (IT) desktop support technician to help maintain Blizzard?s client computing environment. The ideal candidate is a proactive, extremely detail oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills and a desire for providing a great customer service experience. Primary duties include day to day support of client computing related issues such as software deployments, hardware troubleshooting and analysis, and system imaging and deployment.? This individual will serve as the first response technical assistance to our user base and will be accountable for tracking issues through to resolution.? Candidates for this position must be experienced with working in an environment with a number of operations systems, software packages and hardware configurations, as well as having excellent troubleshooting / problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service desk tickets, telephone calls, emails and personnel requests for technical assistance.
  • Provide support to end users on a variety of issues ranging from hardware, software, network and account management.
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems relating to PCs, Macs, printers, copiers, client software, and client server.
  • Document, track, and monitor problems and tickets to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Relies and adheres to instructions and pre-established policies to perform the functions of the job.

Requirements

  • Must have outstanding customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate and present complex issues and analyses in an effective manner
  • Proficient and knowledgeable with installing and maintaining Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Mac OSX
  • Experience in building and troubleshooting PC hardware
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Excellent team player and experienced working with multiple team members to accomplish complex tasks
  • Extremely dependable
  • Positive and "can do" attitude
  • Willing to work weekends if needed
  • Able (and willing) to lift a minimum of 70 pounds

Pluses

  • Associate's degree in a related area
  • Familiarization with Remedy Service Desk
  • Familiarization with SCCM and MDT
  • Basic knowledge of networking technologies (TPC/IP, DNS, DHCP)
